Welcome and thank you for expressing interest in being a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Team Manager. Without these important roles, we can't have a softball season. The information we are requesting is necessary to comply with City of San Mateo and USA Softball requirements for adults that will be on the field or in the dugout during games and practices.
Final head coaches/assistant coaches will be chosen in January by the SMYSA Board. If you are chosen, you will need to complete child abuse prevention requirements detailed on the following page. You will also need to complete the ACE certification procedures - including a background check & concussion training, which will not be available until after January 1st. This is all to be done annually. The SMYSA Compliance Officer will communicate further instruction to you at that time.
